November 20, 2009 – EHAQ Support meeting, Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

This type of massage comes to us from Europe. It is a special series of hand techniques that were developed by an Austrian Dr. Emile Yodder in the 1930’s.

Among its main successes are stress reduction, decongestion, elimination of cellulite and oedema, improvement of the immune system and a host of other symptoms such as:

Jet lag: Pressurized aircrafts and time zone changes deregulate the entire sleeping system, furthermore many passengers suffer the effects of oedema during flight, as body fluids tend to settle in the lower part of the body. A good drainage will restore the lymph circulation rhythm and alleviate its negative effects.

Constipation: In allowing the intestines to produce more mucus, drainage helps in the elimination process.

Insomnia: By freeing the tension and accumulated fatigue the drainage will restore deep recuperative sleep.

Leg pains: Some people may not have enough lymph vessels in the lower extremities which eventually will bring pain and oedema. Drainage soothes leg pains, particularly those due to static oedema.

Sinus: A good drainage helps to decongest the sinuses and influences smell and hearing.

By ridding your body of toxins and fluid congestion you will maintain a youthful and healthy look
